What is Lucilla?
Three things in one place. Step matches against friends or strangers — free for bragging rights, or staked in USDC when you want stakes. Rewards from local businesses for actually walking in. And a Connector you text in plain words to find what you want nearby.
Which phones is the app on?
iOS. The App Store is the only live store today — there is no Android build you can install yet. The Connector is the exception: it is only a text message, so it works on any phone.
Do I need the app to use the Connector?
No. Text +1 (314) 237-4046 and say what you're looking for — a product, food, a service, something to do — and it finds who nearby has it. No app and no signup to start. You only need the app when you want to hold rewards and play matches.
Does Lucilla cost anything to use?
Free matches, claiming rewards and the Connector cost you nothing. A paid match stakes your own USDC, and the rewards businesses post are funded by the business — not by you.
Is there a referral program?
Yes. Invite a friend and you take 4% of every match they play for six months.
What kinds of match can I play?
1v1 against a friend or a stranger, a squad against another squad, or a bracket with thousands of teams. Every mode runs free or paid — free is for bragging rights, paid is settled in USDC.
How does a paid match work?
Both sides stake the same amount in USDC. Whoever walks more steps over the match window takes the pot, and the result settles on-chain on Base. Free matches are always available alongside them.
How are steps verified?
Your watch is the source, not your phone. Lucilla reads step data through the device's own health API — Apple HealthKit, Fitbit, Garmin, Amazfit — and verifies it server-side. That is why shaking your phone, taping it to a fan, or handing it to your dog does nothing: the phone isn't the one counting.
Is this gambling?
No. Matches are decided by the steps you take — skill-based, with no chance element. Free matches are always available.
What is the couples tournament?
A paid single-elimination knockout for teams of two. Each round your team is drawn against one other couple, and the team score is the sum of both partners' wearable-verified steps for that round's window. Higher combined total advances. The field holds 4,096 teams and the pool is $655,360 when it fills — but you never have to beat 4,096 teams, only the one in front of you.
Which wearables count for paid matches?
Apple Watch, Fitbit, Google Pixel Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch, Google Wear OS, Garmin and Amazfit. Samsung and Amazfit count for daily matches; hourly paid matches need Apple Watch, Fitbit, Pixel Watch, Wear OS or Garmin.
Do I need a wearable for a free match?
No. Phone step counts are accepted for free matches, where there is no money on the line. Paid matches need a wearable, because that is where money changes hands and a phone pedometer is too easy to fake.
When do my steps sync?
Within about an hour for intraday matches, and within 12 hours for daily ones. Settlement follows the sync, not the clock — so a result can land a little after the match window closes.
My steps haven't appeared. What now?
Open your watch's own app first. Lucilla reads what your device has already uploaded to its health service, so nothing arrives here until that upload does. Check Lucilla still has permission to read health data, then give it the sync window above. If the steps are still missing after that, open a support ticket with the match and the day.
What kinds of reward are there?
Six. USDC paid on arrival; promos and free items; event and gated access; honeypot drops inside a drawn area; paid music listens; and sponsored step challenges. A business picks what it can actually afford to give, which is why small shops can play at all.
How is a claim verified?
GPS at the location, or a QR scan at the counter — the reward says which it needs. Both ends are verified and nothing redeems twice.
What does “claim here, redeem there” mean?
A single reward can have two locations: where you pick it up, and where it is worth something. That lets an event pay a nearby restaurant for the walk-in, and lets a chain move traffic from a busy door to a quiet one.
What is a honeypot?
USDC left waiting on a corner — the first walker there takes it. The offer only exists inside the shape the business drew; outside it, it does not exist. Businesses drop them to fill slow hours.
Is the USDC a real payment?
Yes. It lands in your own wallet and is spendable or withdrawable anywhere — it is not credit inside an app, and it does not expire because you stopped opening Lucilla.
A reward didn't arrive.
Open a support ticket with the location and the time. Every claim is a public transaction on Base, so it can be checked in minutes rather than argued about.
Where does my money live?
In your own wallet on Base. Lucilla never takes custody of it — winnings and rewards are yours outright, not a balance we are holding for you.
What is USDC?
A dollar-denominated stablecoin issued by Circle: one USDC is one US dollar. Every payment on Lucilla — stakes, rewards, tips — is USDC on Base.
Is there a seed phrase to write down?
No. Your wallet is created and unlocked with a passkey — the Face ID, Touch ID or device unlock your phone already uses. The key never leaves your device, and there is no phrase to lose or to be tricked into typing somewhere.
Can I withdraw?
Yes. It is a normal wallet on Base, so you can send your USDC to any address — an exchange like Coinbase, or another wallet you control — whenever you want. Nothing has to stay inside Lucilla.
Do I need to hold a gas token?
No. Payments from your Lucilla wallet are sponsored, so claiming a reward or paying inside the app does not require you to keep a separate blockchain token on hand for fees.
What does a business actually pay for?
Verified visits. Not impressions, not clicks, not modeled foot-traffic estimates — a real person who walked in. A click is a maybe; a verified visit is someone standing in your shop.
How is a visit verified?
By the customer's own device: wearable and GPS at your location, or a QR scan at the counter. It is measured, not estimated.
How do I list my business?
Text +1 (314) 237-4046 and say what you offer, your hours, your area, and what you'll give — USDC per verified visit, a percentage off, a free item, event access. It goes live from that conversation.
Can I cap what I spend, or pause it?
Yes. A campaign carries a cap on how many claims a day it will pay for, and you can change the cap, switch the reward, or pause the whole thing by replying to the same number.
Do I get the customer's contact details?
When a customer claims your reward and opts in, you receive their consented contact so you can follow up. They can opt out at any time — it is their choice to give it, not a scrape.
How do I delete my account?
Use the deletion form at lucilla.app/delete-account. You get a confirmation email within 24 hours, then the account enters a 30-day grace period before permanent deletion.
What happens to the money in my wallet if I delete?
Move it first. Deleting the account permanently removes your access to the wallet, and Lucilla cannot recover funds from a deleted wallet. Withdraw your USDC to an external address, and let any active matches or pending reward claims settle, before you submit the request.
What is deleted, and what is kept?
Deleted immediately: your profile, social posts, comments and chats, journal entries, step history and wearable sync data, push tokens, and login access. Kept for five years in a locked compliance vault — because Lucilla is a registered money-services business under Canadian FINTRAC law — are wallet addresses, USDC transaction history, reward-claim and match records, and the name, email, phone and date of birth linked to them. After five years those are purged too.
Can I delete only some of my data?
Yes, at lucilla.app/delete-data. Some things cannot be removed while the account is active or while the law requires them: reward claims and match history, on-chain transactions, your wallet address, financial records under money-services rules, and anything tied to an unsettled match or pending reward.
What about my transactions on the blockchain?
Transactions on Base are public and immutable, so the hashes stay there permanently. They carry no personally identifying information — they are anonymized records of value moving, not of who you are.
Not in the list? Ask.
It answers from what Lucilla actually does — matches, wearables, rewards, your wallet, the tournament, the Connector. When it can't, it opens a ticket with a number and emails you a copy.
Still stuck? Ask a person.
Ask the assistant above. If it can't answer, it raises a ticket with a number and we both get a copy by email. For a missing reward, the location and the time is usually all it takes, because every claim is a public transaction. We reply within 48 hours.
